I was born curious, asking endless questions, and constantly telling stories from a young age. “Lauren is really smart, but talks too much” was a frequent notation on my report cards.

Despite my teachers’ attempt to rein me in, this sense of excitement has never softened. My goal, as real-life Ms. Frizzle, is to harness the power of my students’ natural curiosity. I love creating spaces that support others to embrace their questions, explore new possibilities, and see the world with a renewed sense of wonder. I have had the privilege to teach all ages, from preschoolers to professionals, over the past 25 years.

I enjoy leading adult writing groups and workshops that encourage self-expression and storytelling. My own writing has been featured on ScaryMommy.com and in the North Salem Post.

When I’m not teaching or writing, you can find me taking pictures of heart-shaped rocks or sticks that form the shape of letters while hiking, traveling off the beaten path (thanks to the “avoid highways” feature on my GPS), or sitting on the floor of a bookstore with messy shelves.

I live in North Salem, NY, with my husband who knows that I will always stop for a lemonade stand even if it means we may be late for our flight.
